SummarySince many tobacco users visit a dental practice with regularity, I am interested in developing effective methods to be used by community clinicians for recruiting patients to a tobacco quitline, and to develop methods for follow-up based on patient exeprience.
Recognizing that oral disabilities can be a significant burden for many patients, I am interested in determining the existence of a general health benefit for these patients. This would include the burden associated with oral infections and inflammatory conditions on cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic respiratory disease, and preterm low-weight births.
I am interested in the use of novel biomaterials/devices for reconstruction in the craniofacial region, especially those applied to jaw defects secondary to cancer or maxillofacial trauma. Recent publicationsEducation
