SummaryThe Neuropsychiatric aspect of mild cognitive impairment (MCI)is my main research interest. MCI is the gray zone between normal aging and dementia. I am particularly interested in developing early prediction model of dementia by utilizing neuropsychiatric parameters in MCI.
My research work and career development is supported by NIMH's 5K01 MH 68531 grant. The funding cycle is from January 1, 2004 to January 1, 2009. I am using the population based infrastructure of Mayo Alzheimer's Disease Patient Registry, inorder to determine the prevalence of neuropsychiatric symptoms in MCI. The baseline prevalence study will be followed by incidence study.
I have also done research work on the neuropychiatric aspect of Primary Progressive Aphasia and Corticobasal Degeneration.
Additionally, I am collaborating with colleagues in the Epidemiology and Genetics of Parkinson's Disease (EGPD) group at Mayo Clinic, inorder to investigate behavioral traits as indpendent variables and dementia as a dependent variable. We are utilizing a historical cohort that was assembled in 1962 inorder to study personality by utilizing MMPI. Recent publicationsSee a listing of my publications Education
