Marianne Huebner, Ph.D.

Marianne Huebner, Ph.D., develops and applies statistical models motivated by scientific questions, specifically in the areas of colorectal, lung and breast cancer, and cardiovascular health.

Dr. Huebner is a consulting statistician in the Department of Surgery conducting research in quality and safety, comparison of surgical treatments, patient-reported outcomes, biological sciences, and statistical genomics.

Focus areas

• Colorectal cancer. Enhanced recovery pathway, modeling hospital length of stay and probability models for nodal staging.
• Lung cancer. Gene set analysis and multiple data types.
• Survival analysis. Mixed-effects Cox models and competing risk models.

Significance to patient care

In collaboration with the Department of Surgery, Dr. Huebner's research will help clinical decision making and patient counseling. Comparing treatment modalities and analyzing health outcomes and patient-reported outcomes is relevant for improving health care delivery.
