Interests include clinical research in patient management and echocardiographic arenas, valvular heart disease, anticoagulation of prosthetic heart valves, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, heart tumors, contrast echocardiography, stress echocardiography, and women's heart disease.

Clinical prospective and retrospective projects include the following:

  • Large randomized trial comparing Lovenox with standard therapy, pre- and postoperatively, in patients with mechanical heart valves
  • Database for studying hypertrophic cardiomyopathy with the intention of developing a prospective trials
  • Study of patients with papillary fibroelastoma and its embolic potential, frequency, and management.
  • Study of Lambl's excrescences as a source of embolism. Study of Calcific Aortic Stenosis & association of traditional risk factors to the progression of the disease.
  • Study of Stress echocardiography; added benefit in patients with normal ECGs.
