SummaryDr. Long has a Research interest in Clinical Trials development in the treatment of Adult Solid Tumors with a focus on Women's Cancers. He is currently Principal Investigator of the Mayo Clinic Membership in the Gynecologic Oncology Group (GOG) and coordinates Mayo Clinic participation in GOG Trials. The Gynecologic Oncology Group is Funded by Grants and Contracts from the National Cancer Institute. Dr. Long receives funding through Per Capita payment for Mayo Clinic case entries on GOG protocols and separately through the GOG Grant to cover expenses for his participation on the GOG Protocol Development Committee. He is a Member of the GOG Medical Oncology Committee, and the Protocol Development Committee. He has written several National Protocols for the GOG in the treatment of advanced Cervix Cancer, Sarcomas and Endometrial Cancer. Dr. Long is a participant in the clinical trials program of the North Central Cancer Treatment Group and the Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group with special emphasis on Breast Cancer Treatment.
