SummaryResearch interests relate to acute and chronic heart failure and acute coronary syndromes. Ongoing research includes the study of biomarkers, such as troponins, and natriuretic peptides, such as BNP, ANP, pro-BNP as prognostic markers and indicators of treatment efficacy. Research also examines both long-term serial measurements and short-term acute responses to therapy. In addition, assessment of biomarkers and neurohormones in cardiomyopathy of different etiologies such as ischemic, idiopathic, and amyloidosis have been pursued. Also, assessment of BNP infusion therapy in acute decompensated heart failure of differeing etiologies is under study. Studies integrate activities of heart failure clinic (outpatient) and coronary intensive care unit (inpatient) clinical research. Recent publicationsEducation
