SummaryHemodynamics Researchers in our laboratory have used combined cardiac catheterization and Doppler echocardiography to further understand the pathophysiology of valvular heart disease myocardial and diastolic function of the heart. We have published manuscripts about our work with combined Doppler/catheterization correlations. Also, we have a special interest in the cardiomyopathies, particularly hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. We have investigated the mechanism and role of dual-chamber pacing in patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and in patients with dilated cardiomyopathy and we are actively involved in clinical re s e a rch investigating catheter-based therapies such as mitral valvotary and septal ablation . Drs. Stuart Higano and Lerman have collaborated in coronary physiology studies using intraventricular ultrasound and intracoronary Doppler. Recent publicationsEducation
