SummaryExercise physiology in health and disease Exercise is and should be a normal part in the life of every child. What limits exercise capacity in healthy children - lungs? heart? legs? How do children describe the feeling of breathlessness? Do they perceive it any differently than do adults? We know little about the answers to some of these questions in healthy children. What about children with disease affecting their breathing, their heart, or even their muslces? How do they adapt to, and compensate for, the demands of exercise?
