SummaryMy research interests include chemoprevention of breast cancer using SERMS ( tamoxifen, raloxifene) aromatase inhibitors and alternative therapies in women who are at increased risk for breast cancer. I am the principal investigator at Mayo Clinic for multicenter, NCI-Canada sponsored trial MAP-3 ( Excel Study) evaluating exemestane versus placebo in postmenopausal women who are increased risk for developing breast cancer. This is an interdisciplinary effort with the Mayo Clinic Cancer Center. My other research interests including studing molecular markers present in nipple aspirate, blood and urine that might be useful for diagnosing breast cancer. I am the principal investigator of several complementary and alternative therpy trials which include flaxseed for hot flash management and vitamin E and Evening Oil of Primrose for management of cyclical mastalgia.
