SummaryMy research interests include diabetes and health services research. The major focus of my research has been health systems, telemedicine strategies in communication across the continuum of patient care, relationships between patient/generalists/specialists, and information systems. We are presently involved in a multi-year project regarding the optimal translation of diabetes care in clinical practice. This has and does involve studies utilizing electronic management systems, novel ways of gathering and presenting health-related information to patients and members of the health care team, and alternative methods of measuring functional health status, units of health care utilization, satisfaction (patient and provider), and patient ecology. An additional project concerns the critical assessment of the evidence in support of specific patient management decisions based on outcome gaps for patients. Recent publicationsEducation
