Summary

Long Term Research Aims

The aims of the laboratory are the development of targeted and efficient vectors for the delivery of cytotoxic and immunostimulatory genes for the gene therapy of cancer.

Current Projects

  • Fusogenic Membrane Glycoproteins as a Novel Class of Genes for the Local and Immune-mediated Control of Tumor Growth
  • Elucidation of the Mechanisms of Action of Heat Shock Protein 70 Induced During Tumor Cell Killing
  • Adoptive Transfer of Dendritic Cells into Tumors for the Immunotherapy of Cancer
  • Development of Disabled Infectious Single-Cycle Herpes Simplex Virus Vector for Immunotherapy of Colorectal Cancer
  • Transcriptional Targeting of Gene Expression to Tumor Cells Using Tissue-specific and Inducible Promoter/Enhancer Elements in Viral Vectors
  • Development of Novel Hybrid Vectors which Combine the High Transient Efficiency of Adenoviruses with the Stable Integration of Retroviruses and which Infects Both Dividing and Non-Dividing Cells.
