SummaryDr. Michael Wallace is a Professor of Medicine with the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine. In addition, he is the Director of Research for the Department of Medicine and the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Mayo Clinic, Jacksonville. Dr. Wallace's research focuses on minimally invasive detection of gastrointestinal and lung cancer, including advanced endoscopic imaging technologies. In collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Dr. Wallace pioneered the development of light scattering spectroscopy which has now been applied to detection of early cancer in Barrett's esophagus, colon cancer and other non-GI cancers. His work in this area now focuses on autofluorescence imaging, narrow band imaging and molecular imaging. In addition, Dr. Wallace's has focuses research on endoscopic ultrasound, particularly the application of EUS to lung cancer staging. Recent publicationsSee a listing of my publications Education
