SummaryThe Regenerative Medicine Laboratory has four disease related areas of translational research.
The common biological theme is to understand cellular mechanism underlying neuronal death and factors governing regeneration in the nervous system. These mechanisms are studied in cellular, drosophila, and rodent model systems. Mechanism-based therapies are translated to patients using cell and tissue engineering strategies. The laboratory collaborates with clinicians and researchers in the departments of neurology, neurosurgery, orthopedics, physiology, biochemistry, and the Mayo Clinic Cancer Center. Members of the laboratory include technologists, post-doctoral researchers with MD or PhD degrees, medical students, graduate students, junior faculty, and visiting scientists. Our laboratory is housed on the 15th floor of the Guggenheim Building in the center of the Mayo Rochester downtown campus. Recent publicationsEducation
