Clinical Profile

Summary

The overall research objective is to develop and assess novel imaging techniques for the detection of pre-malignant and early cancerous lesions in conditions such as Barrett's esophagus and chronic colitis during gastrointestinal endoscopy. A variety of imaging modalities are currently undergoing evaluation in our laboratory, including fluorescence imaging, narrow band imaging and Raman spectroscopy. Projects include basic mechanistic studies to clinical applications of these techniques.
