About Dr. Stead![]() Dr. Stead is interested in acute brain ischemia and in integrating research with practice as at the other end of every data point is a real life person. Working in the ED, nights and holidays, gives the group a unique perspective on the challenges faced by patients in accessing care, and navigating and comprehending the system. Dr. Stead is also the author of nine medical textbooks, including First Aid for the Emergency Medicine Clerkship. She is an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine, where she directs the third year medical student clerkship in emergency medicine, and is the research chair for the department. Her research interests focus on acute brain ischemia, electrocardiographic intervals, and patient decision making. Languages spoken |
