DNA Microinjection:
The Core Facility will harvest and inject at least 150 fertilized FVB/Cr or C57BL6/j pronuclear embryos per purified genomic or cDNA construct. Surviving embryos will be implanted into pseudopregnant recipient females, and the females will be housed in the barrier facility. All resulting offspring will be transferred to the contracting investigator at weaning unless otherwise indicated on the microinjection form.

Embryo Derivation:
The Core facility will clean a strain of mice from viral infections through re-derivation into our barrier facility. This procedure will include super -ovulating, mating, and collecting fertilized 1-cell oocytes, using mice supplied by the investigator.

Embryo Freezing:
Embryo cryopreservation is a convenient tool for long-term storage of valuable mouse lines. Laboratories can preserve lines for possible future use, or to protect against loss due to disease, accidents, and natural disasters. Also, cryopreservation provides an economic savings from reduced housing costs.

Timed Pregnancy:
The Core facility can provide your lab with timed embryo development or time matching births.

Other Services:
Animal Husbandry training

Microinjection/Micromanipulation training
