TITLE

Training Grant in Allergic Diseases

SUMMARY

The program provides an intense research experience relevant to understanding the pathophysiology of Allergic Diseases and exposes trainees to the clinical challenges of these diseases. The faculty consists of highly-qualified investigators from clinical and basic sciences. Outstanding applicants with the M.D., Ph.D., or M.D./Ph.D. will be aggressively recruited with efforts directed toward individuals from underrepresented racial/ethnic groups. Trainees will receive an in-depth training program combining didactic courses, journal clubs, tutorials and extensive research experience. Trainees are committed to a minimum of two, but preferably three, years of full-time research; this period is the minimum for a trainee to compete successfully in academic research.

ELIGIBILITY

The applicant must have received, as of the beginning of the training grant, a Ph.D., M.D., or comparable doctoral degree. Applicant must also be a citizen or non-citizen national of the United States or must have been legally admitted as a permanent resident.
