Training Grant PositionsTitle Biomedical Research, Post-Baccalaureate Training Director Maher III, Louis (Jim) J., Ph.D. Summary This program identifes and enriches future minority leaders in biomedical research. Our program positively impacts the progression of underrepresented groups. This program provides a one to two-year mentored research experience and related academic training prior to entering graduate school to those who need more research experience or other skills to successfully compete for acceptance into top programs. A weekly group meeting introduces exercises in oral and written presentation skills, discussion of graduate admissions process and analysis of current topics. Qualifications Those graduates in underepresented groups who have recently obtained their baccalaureate degrees; and are considering Ph.D. degrees and careers in disease-oriented basic and translational biomedical research.
